Printed copies will be available in the Counseling Office, the Magnet Office, and room 16-212 on Monday September 23rd. Last day to turn in applications will be Friday, October 11th to room 16-212 and must be turned in by the end of LUNCH. Students are strongly advised to not wait until that Friday. If you have any questions, please email the CSF advisor, Ms. Tirado, at [email protected].
PHYSICAL APPLICATIONS will be accepted ONLY during these times in room 16-212:
- Mondays - Wednesdays at nutrition and lunch
- Friday at nutrition and LUNCH on October 11th
Applications must be submitted by the applicant. Applicants who attempt to submit an application during class time or email may be disqualified for the semester.
Staple a copy of your previous semester’s report card to the application. The student is responsible for keeping report cards. Keep your mailing address updated. Counseling staff will not produce duplicates. Students can print their own report cards at https://parentportalapp.lausd.net/parentaccess/
Applications will be reviewed in person when submitted. If approved, applicants must pay their membership dues of $5 in cash. Applicants will be handed a receipt, and must keep this receipt until their Senior Awards Night in case there is any dispute of the records. Duplicate receipts will NOT be issued.
Seniors, if you are working towards earning the CSF Life Member Award, you need to have at least one semester with senior grades. Since this application period is based on the report cards from Spring 2024, these do not count as senior grades. Therefore, to meet the required senior semester, you must apply in January 2025 with your final report card from this semester (Fall 2024).
WHAT IS CSF DELPHIANS?
The CSF Delphian Honor Society is Chapter 23 of the California Scholarship Federation. CSF Delphians recognizes students who are active participants in the community and who maintain academic integrity. Students can apply every semester to be a Delphian. Those students who join as members for four semesters in their 10th, 11th and 12th grades, including at least one in the 12th grade, may receive the recognition of Life Member, which is recognized at the Senior Awards Night and at graduation. Life Members are recognized with a seal on their diploma, as well as chords for the graduation ceremony.
HOW DO I APPLY TO BE A CSF DELPHIAN?
You must apply every semester.
- Fill out the application every semester.
- Attach a copy of your most recent report card. Each student must keep track of report cards every semester. The school will not provide students with a duplicate. If you lost your original copy, please sign in to Schoology and print a copy. This must be done from a computer and not a mobile device. This is a great opportunity to practice organization and responsibility.
- Although Freshmen are encouraged to apply in their second semester, membership based on Freshman grades will result in Honorary Membership, but will not count toward Life Membership. Life Membership comes from four semesters of Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Grades.
- At least one semester has to come from senior grades, so most likely applying in January of your senior year.
- A “U” automatically disqualifies you for any given semester.
- Applicants must have 10 points from the valid CSF subject lists.
- It’s just $5.00 to join CSF! Take advantage of it!
WHAT ARE THE COURSE LISTS? HOW MANY POINTS DO I EARN IN EACH CLASS?
Total of 10 points from the classes listed in the link above! ↑
- A = 3 points (AP / Honors = 4)
- B = 1 point (AP / Honors=2) for 5 credit classes
- C = 0 points
- D or F or U = Disqualification
- The first 4 points must come from List 1
- The first 7 must come from List 1 and List 2 (all 7 can come from List 1)
