Honors Mandarin 4
 
Through this course, students will have many opportunities to explore Chinese culture through a variety of projects and activities. We will have interesting and meaningful discussion and critical thinking in our class. 
 
 
 
 
H Topics Adv Mandarin
 
This course focuses upon central concepts and fundamental nature of philosophy, literature, art, architecture, religion and history through different genres of reading. Concepts from these disciplines are integrated with ancient and contemporary Chinese culture. Each reading and text define or delineate one facet of Chinese culture heritage, both past and present.

Chinese Drama and Literature

The major purpose of this course is to offer instruction in the fundamentals of effective oral delivery, including body control, use of voice and diction, and analysis of the audience. 
 
Students will also read, discuss, and write about speeches in order to interpret and evaluate the impact of ambiguities, subtleties, contradictions, ironies, and incongruities in a text.

Through the course, students will further develop their communication skills and cultural competence.
The goal of this course is that, by the end of the school year, students are expected to perform at the Intermediate range across the three communication modes; interpretive, interpersonal, and presentation as described in the ACTFL Performance Descriptors for

Honors Mandarin 5 
(Business in Mandarin)
 
This course will prepare high school students to pursue future careers in the China region or communities requiring advanced Chinese knowledge and proficiency. Students will learn how to communicate effectively and cooperatively in a workplace setting, especially focusing on careers in business management, business administration, finance, hospitality, and entrepreneurship.
