Warner Bros. First Cut - Studio Day

Warner Bros. will be providing three (3), $10,000 scholarships for students who are deeply interested in pursuing careers in filmmaking and content creation, and who intend to pursue that interest through their studies and extracurriculars in college.
 
Season 3 WB First Cut teachers will be asked to recommend no more than two students for the scholarship. Recommended students will then be emailed the application by Warner Bros. Students must complete and submit the application and supporting materials to Warner Bros. by March 6.
 
To be eligible for consideration, students must
  • Have participated in WB First Cut, and have been a student of a current WB First Cut teacher
  • Be an LAUSD high school senior graduating in Spring 2020
  • Be attending a college, university, trade school, community college or other higher education institution in Fall 2020

Personal Statement: Students must submit a typed personal statement of 500 words or less, that describes their passion for content creation and/or film-making, how they intend to pursue that passion in college, and their career goals. We would also like to know how this scholarship, specifically, will further those career goals.
 
College Information: Students are expected to list all higher education institutions they have applied to and their application status (accepted, waitlist, haven’t heard back, etc.), as well as note which schools are their top three choices.
 
 
Timeline
  • Feb 14 | Student names submitted to WB
  • March 6 | Student applications due
  • April 6 - 10 | Student interviews (6)

STUDIO DAY OVERVIEW
Studio Day is an opportunity for students interested in production careers to engage more deeply with the Studio and gain valuable insight into various production career pathways. The day will consist of career readiness panels, workshops and a resource fair.
